IDOE partnership - LEAD IN Cohort

Buzzwords abound in education but do you know the why?  Why do you need student agency, empowered learners, personalized learning, or transparency?  Do you know what the vision is to get there?  Do you know how you're going to get your school there?  Or do you really just need to define what "there" is?  LEAD IN is designed for technology coaches, technology integration specialists, or teacher leaders who support digital transformation in their district.  This one-day workshop will lead participants on a journey to look at the why, what, and how of incorporating the ISTE Standards, the Future Ready initiative, and best-practices in coaching and leading others to implement educational change.  Spend a day networking, learning, and sharing ideas to take back to your school or district!

Through our partnership with the Indiana Department of Education Office of eLearning, there will be two free seats per public school district for the session with a cap of 50 participants.  PGP's are available to participants if requested.

IDOE partnership - Focus Forum

The Focus Forum is for district and school administrators, leaders, and change makers from across Indiana.  The two-day workshop will focus on building awareness and skills, finding resources, and understanding current trends in digital transformation through the lens of an innovative leader for today's learners.

We will start with a private screening of the 90-minute movie Most Likely to Succeed.   The film’s website states,  “The film inspires its audiences with a sense of purpose and possibility, and is bringing School communities together in re-imagining what our students and teachers are capable of doing.” Investigate learning space redesign, network, and share best practices and what innovation you are implementing in your school or district. Leave with curated resources, plans for next steps, and a copy of The Innovator's Mindset by George Couros.

Through our partnership with the Indiana Department of Education Office of eLearning, there will be two free seats per public school district for each two-day session with a cap of 50 participants.  PGP's are available to participants if requested.

IDOE partnership - Blended Learning Live

HeatherStaker 300x300Blended
Indiana - are you ready for this *FREE event, August 28-29, 2017 at the Indiana Government Center South?

Introducing Blended Learning Live! with award winning author, Heather Staker!

Join us for an immersive two-day session based on the book Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools.  District teams will participate in interactive learning experiences that place students at the center of online and blended learning.  As part of the two-day session, teams will also create plans to implement or enhance blended or online learning programs at their districts.  This is truly a transformational and experiential learning event.

Whether you are designing a new program or are updating an existing program, teams will leave with:

  • First-hand experience with online learning, Flipped Classroom, Station Rotation, Individual Rotation, Flex, Socratic discussion, project-based learning, plus four other models
  • Personal understanding of how student-centered learning feels in blended and online contexts
  • Their own strategic plan for online or blended learning
  • The best way to understand how to design a student-centered environment -- by experiencing one! (Those who experience this learning environment never want to return to traditional instruction again.)
Registration is capped at 100 participants and is accepted only from public school district teams of 2-5 members, including at least one district or school administrator and one committed teacher at each school that will be pilot-testing the plan.  To be successful, teams who register must be willing to complete a brief online pre-work course (1-2-hours) before the event.

Note:  Participants do not need to purchase the book to attend.  If you do bring your copy, Heather will sign it during breaks.

On a related note, the Indiana Department of Education Office of eLearning is hosting a summer book club on Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools starting June 5 lasting 11 weeks which is just a couple of weeks before this event!!!  Your team can get a head start to prepare for the workshop so register for the #INeLearn bookclub today!!
