Supporting Reading in Content Subjects

books20stack 02
Reading is the key to success in all content areas. This becomes a challenge as students must make the transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." With the greater demand to read informational text in the CCSS and subsequent PARCC assessments, high levels of reading and comprehension are not an option. This workshop will incorporate strategies from a variety of experts like Marzano, Fisher & Frey, Wormeli, Hyerle and others as it taps into the research on neurosci-ence as it relates to reading. Participants will leave with practical approaches they can use immediately!

Target Audience: Intermediate, Middle School and High School Teachers

When:  Friday, September 21 at 8:30-3:30
