Meet the Staff of Professional Learning
Ronda Eshleman, Executive Director of Indiana Online Academy
, brings over twenty years’e
xperience as both a business teacher and administrator at Carmel High School, a nationally ranked, top performing school. During her leadership, Carmel High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of Forbes magazine's top 10 schools, and one of Newsweek's top achieving schools. She is a former President of the Indiana Curriculum and Instruction Association, an association of over 450 curriculum specialists from all over the state of Indiana. She frequently presents at local, state and national conferences, such as National Association of Secondary School Principals and the National Learning Forward conference. Previous to working at Carmel High School, Ronda was a Marketing Executive with Xerox Corporation.
Laurie Ferry, Professional Development Director
Before joining CIESC, Laurie served as the K-12/STEM Specialist
for the Indiana Department of Education, an Indiana High School and Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal and Executive Director of Mathematics for private organizations. She has served on national and state level organizations related to instructional standards, next generation assessments and professional development. Laurie brings over 24 years of educational experience to CIESC. She has presented at state, national and international conferences as well as provided professional development to over 20,000 educators.
Laura Garmire, eLearning Training Specialist
, brings over twenty years’ experience as both an
elementary teacher and technology integration specialist at MSD Warren Township. Since being hired at CIESC, she has become an authorized Google Education Trainer. During her time as a technology integration specialist, Warren was awarded the Race to the Top grant. She helped implement 1:1 in grades 1-12 with Chromebooks and provided professional development to administrators, pre-K to 12 teachers, and support staff on Google Apps for Education and technology integration. She frequently presents at local, state and international conferences, such as HECC, IASP, and EdTechTeam Indiana Summit Featuring Google Apps for Education.
Susie Gardiner, Program Manager In her role at CIESC she provides organizational management of events providing educators with superior logistics for their professional learning for over 11 years. Susie coordinates all aspects of programs and event management including scheduling, catering, set up, communication, and invoicing. Before being promoted to Program Manager in 2010, she served 6 years as the Professional Development Assistant coordinating trainings and conferences. Susie assisted in kicking off the marketing of CIESC with moving the Quarterly Newsletter and Annual Board Report to a digital format and helping to create a social media platform to better assist and communicate with our educators.·Susie leads in establishing and maintaining a positive and service oriented “image” for CIESC in the community. Previous to her work at CIESC, Susie held various positions such as Client Account Manager and Operations Lead for a fortune 500 company.
